West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield – and the club’s supporters on Twitter are strongly against the idea.
The Independent reports that the Hammers have lined up a January raid for the Canada international and that manager David Moyes is keen on a move.
It is understood that the left-winger has only six months left on his contract with Burnley and that they have offered him a contract extension.
However, he is yet to respond to the new terms and West Ham are prepared to make a better offer and are also willing to pay £2million to secure his services.
The 29-year-old is a regular feature in the Burnley side on the left flank and has scored two goals in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.
He has racked up 83 Premier League appearances during his spell in the top flight with the Clarets and is renowned for his high work-rate.
West Ham fans on social media are strongly against the suggestion of moving for Arfield and are unsure whether he would improve the current squad at the London Stadium.
They have urged the club to pursue different transfer targets and want the club to fork out on new high-profile signings.

Who?

Arfield has proven himself to be a reliable Premier League player under Sean Dyche, but is not someone that can win a game individually.
He would face stiff competition if he did join West Ham and would be up against the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Michail Antonio, Manuel Lanzini and Arthur Masuaku for a starting position.
