West Ham manager David Moyes is still yet to decide on the future of defender Reece Burke amid huge interest in him, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper claims that there are six Championship clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old in the January transfer window.

The centre-back will return to the London Stadium this week after spending the first half of the campaign on loan with Bolton, where he has impressed with 15 appearances across all competitions.

It is understood that he could still yet win over current Hammers boss Moyes, but the manager faces an ultimatum over his future.

The report details that Championship outfit Bolton want to re-sign Burke on loan until the end of the season, while Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Sheffield United and Derby are also keen.

Good move for West Ham?

Burke is a highly-rated talent at the London Stadium and there is a need for a talented centre-back in the West Ham first team, but it’s unlikely he is ready to make the step up yet to top-flight football.

A good decision for the Hammers would be allow the Englishman to depart on another loan spell to continue his development.

He has previously made 12 senior appearances for West Ham and could be a future first teamer if he impresses for a longer period in the competitive Championship.

Likely to happen?

It seems likely that West Ham’s academy graduate will depart on another loan spell, which would be his fourth from the Premier League side.

Moyes is yet to make a final decision on where his future lies, but the in-demand defender would surely be better served with another loan spell.

They do have the likes of Winston Reid, Declan Rice, Angelo Ogbonna, Jose Fonte and James Collins currently competing for the centre-back position at the London Stadium.
