Wolves forward Michal Zyro is set to join Charlton Athletic on loan, according to South London Press.

The local newspaper claim that Charlton boss Karl Robinson dropped hints about a player joining the club on loan, after Saturday’s game against Walsall.

“We got the green light on one before kick-off,” said Robinson yesterday.

“I’m not going to tell you who it is, I don’t want to jinx it.

“He is 6ft 1ins or 6ft 2ins, quick and left-footed, which gives us a bit more balance.

“He can play as a striker, as a nine, we’ll get him to the training ground on Monday.”

The manager’s description of the player suggest the player close to joining is Zyro.

South London Press report that Zyro, at the very least, is on Charlton’s radar as they look to win promotion in the second half of the season.

The Addicks currently sit sixth in the League One play-off positions after 28 games played.

Zyro hasn’t featured for Wolves in the Championship this season, with the versatile winger playing most of his games in the Premier League 2.

Good move for Wolves?

The 25-year-old winger, who can play on the left or right flank, has struggled for playing time at Wolves this season.

For this reason, it can only be a good move for the 25-year-old to join Charlton on loan.

Zyro being exposed to regular football, could easily see him return to the club a better player.

Likely to happen?

If Robinson was referring to Zyro, then this deal is all but done.

The left-footed winger should have no grievances about a short-term move that gets him regular games; and it looks like a easy deal to get done for all parties.

There’s no other clubs reported as being inserted in Zyro, so there shouldn’t be any late complications.
