West Ham United have expressed an interest in signing Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic, according to ESPN.

The broadcaster report that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has given the green light for the Serbian international to go out on loan this month, with three sides showing interest.

ESPN claim that the Premier League giant’s decision on where Grujic goes will depend on where he will be given the most first-team minutes.

Aston Villa and Huddersfield are the other interested parties.

As quoted by ESPN, Klopp said: “We will think about [a loan]. We always want to help the players. First of all, as a club we have to think about ourselves.”

Good move for West Ham?

This would be a decent move for the Hammers.

Grujic has been out of favour at Liverpool since his £5.1million transfer from Red Star Belgrade two years ago, and the 21-year-old needs to be given some game time.

He has shown glimpses of what he can do in his rare appearances for the Reds, but has never quite looked like breaking into the first team.

A loan would represent a risk-free investment for the Hammers as they look to beef up their squad for the relegation fight ahead.

Likely to happen?

You would think that the Hammers are at the back of this three-team queue for Grujic.

Championship side Villa would be most likely to be able to guarantee Grujic minutes, and Huddersfield are managed by Klopp’s best friend David Wagner.

The Terriers would also be able to guarantee Grujic more minutes than the Hammers would.
