Pedro Obiang scored a superb goal against Tottenham to ensure West Ham earned a respectable draw, but fans were left angry over his performance against Shrewsbury Town.

David Moyes’ side failed to achieve safe passage to the FA Cup fourth round with their performance, as they drew 0-0, and now have to win a replay in order to progress.

The midfielder was labelled a passenger by one fan on social media during the Hammers outing against League One opposition on Sunday.

With another calling his delivery poor as the midfielder continued to not make the most of West Ham’s free-kicks.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been a regular for the Hammers this season, making 21 appearances across all competitions.

Obiang has only missed four of West Ham’s league games, two through injury, scoring two goals to aid his side’s fight against relegation.

The midfielder has been at the Hammers since July 2015 after he joined for an undisclosed fee from Italian club Sampdoria.

Obiang was Slaven Bilic’s first signing for the club, and has successfully outlasted his former manager with Moyes now being charge.

West Ham tied Obiang to the club until 2022 by giving him a long contract extension in July 2017.

However, fans won’t want to think about that after witnessing him struggle against League One opposition.
