Watford are planning to offer Lazar Markovic a way out of Liverpool by trying to take him on loan for six months, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper claim that the Hornets are desperate to sign reinforcements in January due to being swamped with injures and want to wrap up a loan deal for Markovic.

The Daily Star report that while Watford are keen to move for the winger, Sunderland’s Didier Ndong tops their wanted list.

Markovic, who joined Liverpool for £20million from Benfica, has not featured for the Reds at all this season, and has been reduced to making one appearances in the Premier League 2.

The winger spent the second-half of last season on loan at Hull City, where he played 14 times and scored two goals.

Good move for Liverpool?

Yes. Simply put, the winger is surplus to requirements and a loan deal would put him in the shop window in order to secure a permanent exit at a later date.

The winger will also be keen to get back to playing regular football, and swiftly completing deal will help lower the Reds’ wage bill.

Likely to happen?

There’s nothing standing in the way of this deal happening, Liverpool will be keen to get rid, Markovic will be want to go and Watford’s interest seems genuine considering their recent problems.

The only thing that will slow this deal down in happening, is if another team enter the race to secure Markovic’s services.
