Tottenham have tabled a huge bid for Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore, according to a reliable journalist.

Sky Sports Italy transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed on his personal website that the French giants have received offers of between £21.9million and £35million from Spurs and Liverpool for the 30-times Argentina international.

Di Marzio reports that Pastore, 28, has rejected the possibility of a move to either of the Premier League big hitters as he has set his heart on a return to Italy.

It is said that Inter Milan are also working on a deal to land the attacking midfielder, who has been on the fringes of the team at Ligue 1 leaders PSG this season.

The Serie A big hitters are keen on a loan-to-buy deal but the French club are holding out for a permanent sale.

Good move for Tottenham?

Yes, definitely. Pastore is a class act who is technically excellent, mobile and can create and score goals. He has slipped down the pecking order at PSG following the mega-money arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, but has still scored four times in 18 matches this season. In total, his 250 PSG matches since joining from Palermo in 2011 have yielded 44 goals and 57 assists. Spurs don’t have a genuine playmaker other than Christian Eriksen, and Pastore has all the qualities to give the team a new dimension.

Likely to happen?

It appears Pastore wants a return to Italy after making his name at Palermo. That suggests Spurs are not in the running to land the attacking midfielder.
