Tottenham attacking midfielder Samuel Shashoua is reportedly closing in on a loan move to a Major League Soccer club – and fans have delivered mixed verdicts on Twitter.
The Lilywhite Rose Twitter account, which is a reliable source of news for Spurs’ youth players, reported on Sunday afternoon that Shashoua is to imminently make a January transfer move to the MLS in the United States.

Shashoua, 18, has yet to make a senior Tottenham appearance but has showcased his promise with a series of impressive displays for the club’s Under-23s side in Premier League 2.
Spurs sent another rising star out on loan to the MLS last January, when defender Anton Walkes moved to new boys Atlanta United on a year-long loan that has just been completed.
It now appears that Shashoua could follow in Walkes’ footsteps as Tottenham look to secure a deal in which the youngster can develop while playing regular professional football.
In the Tottenham youth ranks, the baby-faced teenager has scored 17 times in 43 appearances for the Under-18s and Under-23s, and catching the eye on the left flank with his dazzling footwork and ability to pick out fellow attackers’ runs with through balls and crosses.
Experienced academy chief John McDermott believes the MLS provides the ideal stepping stone for many Spurs youngsters between age-group and senior football.
However, not all fans of the club are convinced it is the best move for highly rated Shashoua.

I find this a strange one. He’s a good player so sending him out to our loanee graveyard isn’t the greatest of news.
