Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Aston Villa winger Andre Green after the 19-year-old recovered from a serious hamstring injury, according to The Sun

The newspaper report that Spurs made an attempt to sign Green two years ago, but Green opted to stay with Villa and develop at his boyhood club, signing a new three-year deal.

The Sun claim that Tottenham have however remained keen on a deal for the dazzler, regularly watching him in action for the Villans, in both the senior and development squads.

It is said that a bid of around £10million would need to come in for Villa to consider a sale, with Bournemouth also showing interest.

Good move for Tottenham Hotspur?

This would be a brilliant move from Spurs.

Green has impressed for Villa since making his debut as a 17-year-old, and was looking in great form before suffering his serious injury earlier this season.

Green’s first goal in senior football, scored against Norwich at the beginning of the season, illustrates just what the winger can do.

The 19-year-old received the ball on the left-hand side before opening his body and curling a sumptuous strike into the far corner.

Likely to happen?

Villa will desperately want to keep hold of Green, who is one of their best young talents, especially as the fifth-placed side chase promotion back to the Premier League.

However, The Sun claim that bids of more than £10million may tempt them to sell, and to Tottenham that is pennies in today’s market.

Depending on how keen Spurs are, they could easily swoop in with such a bid and snap Green up, but the level of their interest is not clear as of yet.
