Jose Mourinho is urging Manchester United to put in a bid in the region of at least £50million for Tottenham’s Danny Rose, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that Spurs remain unwilling to let Rose goes in January, and can only be persuaded with a £50million along with being able to sign Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as a replacement.

The Sun report that a deal for Sessegnon faces a few issues as Fulham believe the defender wants to stay and they have no pressure to sell in order to raise funds.

While Mourinho is keen to secure Rose, according to the same report, others at Manchester United would rather he went for Tottenham target Sessegnon instead.

Rose is currently sidelined for Spurs through injury, but Mourinho has been assured that the defender’s latest knee injury is not serious and will not affect a deal in January.

Good move for Tottenham?

Mourinho was previously confident about signing Rose but it now looks like Tottenham need a lot of things to change in order to seal his exit.

This a good sign for Spurs as the club need to be sure they can get a replacement and the highest fee possible if they going to sell to a Premier League rivals.

Based on this report, it sounds like Tottenham now hold all the cards when dealing with Manchester United’s interest.

Likely to happen?

The speculation surrounding Rose’s future simply won’t go away but with Fulham looking more and more likely to keep Sessegnon, this deal doesn’t look like happening in January.

While Mourinho is unfazed by Rose being out injured, depending how quickly he recovers Manchester United will not be keen to shell out a fee like £50million for someone who is an injury doubt.
