Harry Kane has revealed he is not discussing a new Tottenham deal despite reports, and he’s not aware of any plans for him to be offered a new contract.

The Independent previously reported that Kane was set to be offered a £200,000-a-week deal which would have potentially see him stay at the club for another seven years.

However, the Spurs striker was asked about new contract on Sunday and gave a direct response.

“No,” answered Kane when questioned about if he had been offered a new deal, as quoted by The Sun.

The striker then responded to a question about whether he had contract talks planned, simply saying “not that I know of.”

Kane went on to insist that he’s happy at the club but he’ll only remain content if Tottenham “keep progressing, keep getting better and start winning trophies.”

OPINION

Harry Kane has clearly laid out what Spurs need to do in order to keep him, but fans will be worried that a new deal to reward the striker’s form is yet to be discussed. The striker’s current deal expires in 2022 but after scoring 26 goals in 27 appearances this season, fans will be keen for the striker to be financially rewarded in order for him not to be tempted by a move. Spurs fans are more than aware that Real Madrid are lurking and news like this might force them to act on their well documented interest.
