Crystal Palace have joined Bournemouth and Celtic in the race for Dundee enforcer Jack Hendry, according to The Scottish Sun.

The newspaper report that the Eagles have been extensively tracking Hendry’s progress for months and may now enter the bidding war for the 22-year-old.

The Sun claim that Premier League rivals Bournemouth are to table a £1million bid for Hendry, but Dundee are instead looking for £1.5million.

It is said that Hendry has been a long-term target for Celtic, but it is doubtful that the Hoops will be willing to cough up the asking price for the young enforcer.

Good move for Celtic?

This would be a great move for Celtic.

Hendry has shown himself to be a classy operator this season for the struggling Dark Blues, and looks ready to move on to a bigger club.

The former Wigan defender is brilliant on the ball, and Celtic are in need of a centre-back who is comfortable in possession.

At just 22 years old, Hendry also has lots of room for development, and he would be a potential future star at Parkhead.

Likely to happen?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it.

With two Premier League big-hitters now in the race for his signature, it seems as though Celtic may be outmatched in this one.

The Sun claim it is unlikely that the Hoops will pay the £1.5million asking price, so there only hope now is that Hendry stays at Dundee this month so they can make a renewed bid to sign him in the summer.
