Newcastle United winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni has met Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock to discuss a potential exit route from St. James’ Park, according to the Daily Mail

The newspaper report that El-Mhanni was one of the players who complained about the bullying and racist behaviour of former Under-23 coach Peter Beardsley, with the club legend currently suspended and waiting the outcome of a investigation.

The Mail claim that the Magpies’ youth player is looking to leave Tyneside after some of his complaints about former Under-23 coach Peter Beardsley were not upheld despite several witnesses.

It is said that the Bluebirds are now in pole position to sign the 22-year-old forward, who has made two first-team appearances for Newcastle.

Cardiff currently sit in third in the Championship, 14 points behind leaders Wolves.

Good move for Newcastle United?

It would seem to be the best outcome for all involved if El-Mhanni was allowed to leave.

The player is obviously unsettled at the club after becoming embroiled in the racism scandal involving Beardsley, and there is little point in trying to make him stay.

The young winger does not look anywhere near the first-team either, so a move away is definitely the way forward for him.

Cardiff are a good destination for club and player, as El-Mhanni will get more game time and Newcastle will not be inadvertently strengthening one of the Premier League rivals if the tricky wide man comes good this season.

Likely to happen?

With talks already underway with Cardiff, and there being no reason for the 22-year-old to stay on Tyneside, this one could definitely go through in the next two days.

There seems to be willingness on both sides to strike a deal, although Newcastle’s stance is not totally clear as of yet.

With the club in the midst of such a scandal, it would not look good for them to force a player involved to stay, and that would suggest they will allow their youth player to leave.
