Liverpool’s Emre Can has agreed to a deal in principle which would see him join Juventus in the summer according to Sky in Italy.

The website claim that the Reds remain hopeful that they can get the midfielder to sign new contract despite him having held promising talks with Juventus.

Sky in Italy believe terms were agreed after successful talks on Thursday; with Can able to speak to Juventus without Liverpool’s permission due to only having six months left on his deal.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been a regular for the Reds this season despite his contract issues, making 25 appearances across all competitions.

Good move for Liverpool?

No. While Can isn’t as big a loss as other players would be to the club, to lose a cultured midfielder such as Can without getting a huge transfer fee is disappointing.

However, with the midfielder rejecting the Reds’ attempts to keep him, it at least will end the speculation with his future determined.

Likely to happen?

Juventus have been keen to get Can for what seems like a lifetime now, and with respected sources saying a deal has been done in principal, it’s going to happen.

There’s only a very small chance that Liverpool could change Can’s mind, but it’s unknown what they could use to persuade him.
