Liverpool have left an offer on the table for Barcelona’s Ivan Rakitic as the playmaker wants to leave following Philippe Coutinho’s arrival, according to Diario GOL.

The newspaper claim that the Reds, Arsenal and Juventus have all made offers but Rakitic wants to wait until after the World Cup to make a decision.

Diario GOL report that while the midfielder is keen to leave; he is aware that his offers will multiply with good performances at the World Cup.

The 29-year-old midfielder has featured 28 times for Barcelona across all competition this season, scoring one goal and grabbing three assists.

Rakitic has been a Barcelona since 2014 and since joining the club he has help them win many honours through his sublime passing ability.

Good move for Liverpool?

As Liverpool aim to become a trophy-winning side again, signing a serial winner who has won the Champions League among many Spanish titles and has the technique, passing range and vision to dictate the play, makes for a brilliant move.

The Reds’ selling Coutinho was a inevitable, but bold move.

However, if it leads to Rakitic’s exit Barcelona and for him to come straight to them, then Liverpool have ultimately secured a classy replacement for their Coutinho.

Likely to happen?

Diario GOL reports that Arsenal and Juventus have also tabled offers, with Rakitic expecting even more in the summer.

This means Liverpool face tough competition and he hasn’t exactly jumped at the chance to join them upon knowing their interest.

However, if the Reds continue to be a notable presence in Europe this season, it might grab Rakitic’s attention and signature.

There’s also the possibility that his new teammate, Coutinho, convinces him of how good life is at Liverpool.
