Liverpool secured a breathtaking last minute win over Burnley on Monday to extend their advantage in the race for the Champions League, but Reds fans have reacted with worry to the behaviour of goalscorer Sadio Mane.

Mane was Liverpool’s main attacking threat as both Philippe Coutinho and Mo Salah missed out through injury, and it was the Senegal international who broke the deadlock in some style on 61 minutes.

The winger picked up the ball in the box before turning and firing a rising left-footed drive into the top corner.

Liverpool were looking on course for victory after Mane’s strike but suffered a major setback when Johann Gudmundsson equalised with just three minutes remaining.

However, the Reds pushed for the all-important winner, which they managed to find through an unlikely source.

Ragnar Klavan stooped to head home on the goal line in the 94th minute to give Liverpool the three points, and extend their advantage over Tottenham and Arsenal in fourth.

The Reds now lead Arsenal, who have a game in hand, by six points, and Tottenham, who have two games in hand, by seven.

Despite Mane’s stunning goal, Reds fans picked up on his worrying body language after the strike. The 25-year-old failed to meaningfully celebrate, and looked dejected when he was subbed off.
