Falkirk’s Tony Gallacher is set to train with Liverpool for a week, ahead of potentially joining them in a six-figure deal, according to The Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claim that the 18-year-old will spend this week training with Jurgen Klopp’s side and if all goes well, will seal a move to the Reds in the January window.

The Scottish Sun report that Manchester United are thought to be among a host of British clubs that have scouted the highly sought after star.

If Gallacher was to join Liverpool, he is expected to be a member of their developmental squad.

The left-back has featured 17 times across all competitions this season, and made his debut for Falkirk, two years ago, when he was only 16-years-old.

Gallacher has also been capped at youth level for Scotland, having six caps at Under-19s level.

Good move for Liverpool?

Yes. The full-back is an excellent prospect to sign, given the fact, he has already experienced senior football.

The 18-year-old is easily worth spending a six-figure sum on, even if it’s at the higher end of the spectrum.

Liverpool’s first-team have had well documented issues with finding someone suitable to play left-back, a deal for Gallacher could ensure they don’t experience that problem in the future.

Likely to happen?

The defender is set to train with Klopp’s side, so barring an woeful week of performances, this deal is bound to happen.

If Gallacher is already willing to train at Liverpool, unless another club that wants him come in with an over-the-top offer, then he has already made his decision regarding the move.
