Liverpool face a massive test of their Champions League credentials on Sunday as they welcome Premier League leaders Manchester City to Anfield, and Jurgen Klopp is expected to make three changes from the side that beat rivals Everton in the FA Cup.

The Reds currently hold a three-point lead over Tottenham Hotspur in the race for fourth, the final qualifying spot for the Champions League, but face a huge task of holding on to that advantage against City.

Their opponents remain undefeated in this Premier League campaign, with a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Eve bringing to an end a winning run of 18 games.

Liverpool are on a good run of their own, having won their last three encounters in the Premier League, and overcoming Everton 2-1 in the FA Cup thanks to a late goal from record signing Virgil van Dijk.

The excitement over the arrival of van Dijk has been tempered in recent days by the departure of star man Philippe Coutinho, who has joined Barcelona for a massive £142million.

How Liverpool spend that money will be interesting, but first they must focus on the task at hand against City.

This is Futbol have selected Jurgen Klopp’s expected starting XI, including three changes and a return for Liverpool’s £44million man.
