Everton are reportedly confident of signing Arsenal forward Theo Walcott this month – and fans have delivered mostly positive verdicts on Twitter.
The Mail claim the Merseysiders are in hot pursuit of the 28-year-old and believe they can beat his former club Southampton to his signature.
It is said that Everton are in pole position because they would be able to match Walcott’s current £110,000 per week deal at Arsenal, while Southampton’s financial limits would mean he would need to take pay cut to rejoin them.
Everton have struggled for goals this season after selling Romelu Lukaku last summer but moved to rectify this issue by signing centre-forward Cenk Tosun from Besiktas last week for £27million.
The club have spent big in recent transfer windows and a section of supporters are welcoming the reported pursuit of Walcott, who appears certain to leave Arsenal this month or in the summer after slipping down the pecking order this season.
Everton fans mostly believe his potency, pace and goal threat would add a major dimension to their attack, although some claimed he is not what they are looking for.

Would be sad to see Wallcot @ Everton, would prefer Lookman & Vlasic to be given a chance #EFC #Walcott
