Everton are set to battle Leicester City over securing the services of Benfica’s Rafa Silva, according to A BOLA.

The Portuguese newspaper claim that both Premier League clubs are set to make six-month loan offers for Silva, and Benfica will add a clause which sees them able to buy the winger for £26.5million at the end of the loan.

A BOLA report that Benficia are keen to sell to a Premier League club after the winger has failed to impress since joining them in 2016.

Silva is a tricky winger known for his dribbling ability and his knack to play key passes in order to create goalscoring opportunities.

The winger has featured 11 times this season for Benfica across all competitions, but is yet to grab a goal.

Good move for Everton?

The Toffees need to secure a winger after letting Kevin Mirallas depart the club, and Silva is a promising prospect.

The 24-year-old may have struggled at Benfica, but his ability to take people on with his dribbling skills is the type of player Everton lack.

Sam Allardyce has the managerial experience to get the best out of players and he could use his knowledge to best utilise Silva.

Likely to happen?

The winger definitely looks destined to leave Benfica given his lack of appearances and underwhelming performances.

However, the Toffees have to see off competition from Leicester City and it’s hard to know who the winger would favour between the two.

It all depends on who convinces the winger that he’ll feature regularly upon joining.
