Wolverhampton Wanderers have had an offer rejected for AC Milan striker Andre Silva, according to the Corriere Della Sera

The Milan-based newspaper report that Wolves have submitted a sensational bid for the 22-year-old forward, but it has been rejected by the Italian giants.

The Corriere claim that Milan have no plans to sell Silva, who they bought in the summer from Porto for a massive £35million, but instead intend to develop him at the club.

It is said that Jorge Mendes, Silva’s agent who is heavily involved at Wolves this season, was instrumental to the bid.

Good move for Wolves?

This would be a stunning statement from Wolves, who in all honesty have already made some stunning statements this season.

The big-money signing of Ruben Neves in the summer paved the way for their brilliant season so far, and adding Silva in January would be a massive coup.

The young Portuguese international has failed to fire at Milan so far, but six goals in six Europa League games show what he is capable of.

His international record of 11 goals in 18 appearances also speaks for itself, and for Wolves to sign someone of his stature would be a seriously big move.

Likely to happen?

You would think not, but don’t rule anything out with Wolves this season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are destroying expectations both on and off the pitch, and a move for Silva is merely illustrative of that.

However, considering that Silva cost Milan around £35million only six months or so ago, Wolves would have to shell out a serious amount of money to prise him away.
