Ben Marshall is almost certain to leave Wolves in January, according to the Express and Star.

The local newspaper claim that the Championship leaders are keen to secure a permanent exit for the midfielder.

The Express and Star report that Marshall isn’t the only Wolves star facing an exit, with Duckens Nazon and Michal Zyro set to go out on loan.

Marshall, who can feature as a right midfielder or as a full-back on either flank, has only featured nine times this season.

Out of the nine appearances he has made this season, three of them have been made in the EFL cup.

Marshall has been at Wolves since January 2017 after signing for Blackburn Rovers for £2million, according to Sky Sports.

In total, the midfielder has made 25 appearances, scoring one goal and grabbing four assists.

Good move for Wolves?

Marshall has hardly featured this season, despite his versatility.

With Wolves destined to be in the Premier League next season, if Marshall can’t can’t break into the team while they’re in the Championship; it’s unlikely he will be used in the top-flight next season.

This deal would be perfect, if Wolves can recoup the £2million they paid out, roughly a year ago.

Likely to happen?

With the Express and Star believing that Marshall is almost certain to leave, then he will depart the club.

The only question about the midfielder’s exit is about what club he will join, as no club is reported as interested.

However, given the fact that Marshall has heaps of Championship experience, having played 204 times in the league, the 26-year-old will soon have a lot of clubs interested.
