Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet Morgan Gibbs-White has snubbed Premier League interest and agreed a new contract at Molineux, according to The Sun.

The newspaper claim that Wolves have managed to beat off the top-flight competition and secure the 18-year-old on a long-term deal.

The Sun report that the England Under-20 World Cup winner has been chased by Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal, but has agreed to sign a professional contract with his boyhood club on his 18th birthday (Saturday).

No official announcement has been made by the club.

Wolves currently sit top of the Championship with a massive 12-point lead over second-placed Derby County.

Good move for Wolves?

Absolutely.

Gibbs-White was a star for the England Under-20s as they were crowned world champions in India over the summer, scoring twice on the way to the trophy.

With the vast majority of his teammates in that squad playing for Premier League sides, Gibbs-White was widely expected to make the step up himself soon after.

However, Wolves have managed to get him to sign new terms, which is a massive coup for the club, who look set for promotion to the Premier League.

Likely to happen?

This one looks a done deal, and Wolves most likely have their brilliant form this season to thank.

With promotion to the Premier League looking a distinct possibility, there is no reason for Gibbs-White to leave his boyhood club right now.

All we are waiting for now is an official announcement from the club.
