Paul Clement was sacked by Premier League side Swansea on Wednesday evening – and the Rangers fans on Twitter have suggested he could be a good fit at Ibrox.

The Gers are still on the search for a permanent manager following the dismissal of Pedro Caixinha back in October and supporters believe the newly available 45-year-old could be successful in Scotland.

Swansea decided to part company with the Englishman in midweek and he leaves the club bottom of the league, despite only arriving at the Liberty Stadium back in January.

The Welsh outfit are now facing a serious battle against relegation and are in the market for a new boss to save the Premier League team.

Rangers fans on social media have thrown Clement’s name into the hat following his recent dismissal after being linked with a number of managers in the past couple of months.

Caretaker Rangers boss Graeme Murty has endured a mixed tenure at Ibrox so far and a large section of supporters are despaired for a new permanent man to be appointed sooner rather than later.

Clement is a fairly inexperienced manager, with just spells at Swansea and Derby so far during his career.

However, he worked as an assistant at some elite clubs including the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Light Blues look set to have Murty in charge during a busy fixture list over Christmas and he will hope to help his side bridge the three-point gap to second-placed Aberdeen in the league table.
