West Ham are lining up a huge £25million bid to sign Swansea defender Alfie Mawson, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims that the Hammers are readying a £25million move for the centre-back and want to bring him to the London Stadium when the transfer window re-opens in January.
It is understood that an £18million offer has already been rejected by Swansea for their 23-year-old defensive colossus.
The report details that David Moyes’ side are now prepared to improve their offer with a £20million offer plus a further £5million in add ons.
Good move for West Ham?
Mawson has been the only mainstay in a Swansea team bottom of the Premier League table and arguably their standout performer.
The ball-playing centre-back would be a good addition to the Hammers team as they are in need of a new defender who can lead from the back.
Mawson is an upcoming English talent that has the potential to perform at a higher level and has the potential to be a key figure in a Moyes XI.

Likely to happen?
West Ham seem persistent in their chase for Mawson as they ready a huge eight-figure fee and are ready to improve their initial offer.
They currently have the likes of Winston Reid, Angelo Ogbonna, James Collins, Declan Rice and Jose Fonte as centre-back options, but it would be no surprise to see a new young defender arrive in the New Year.
However, Swansea will not be keen on allowing their star performer to leave them amid a serious relegation battle in the top flight.
