West Ham are ready to table a £15million bid for Bournemouth central midfielder Harry Arter, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim that new manager David Moyes is a big admirer of the 27-year-old and is keen on signing him as he looks to adds proven Premier League players to his side in the January window.

The Sun report that Arter is seen as a potential successor to current skipper Mark Noble as the ‘homegrown heart’ of the team.

It is said that Bournemouth may be reluctant to offload a regular first teamer to a rival in the second half of the table, although they are looking to cash in on a few assets to raise transfer funds.

Good move for West Ham?

Arter is a fine Premier League midfielder can fuses grit with guile. He has been a massive part of the Bournemouth success story, making 250 appearances for the club during their remarkable jump across the divisions before they became established as a Premier League club. Noble is well into his 30s and has a limited shelf life. Arter would be a sound replacement.

Likely to happen?

It was far less likely a few months ago, when Arter penned a new contract that runs until 2021. But the Republic of Ireland international has been in and out of Eddie Howe’s team in recent months, which gives West Ham hope that a deal can be done.
