West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to praise Jack Wilshere for his performance in Wednesday night’s goalless draw at the London Stadium.

Hammers manager David Moyes admitted this week that he is interested in signing Wilshere as his club prepare for a transfer window he believes will be key to them avoiding relegation.

“You’d hope that if you took a player from another Premier League club it’d be much easier for him to go right into the team and play well,” the West Ham manager said. “Jack Wilshere would be someone who we’d have to look at if he was available.”

Moyes was able to see plenty of the Arsenal midfielder close up on Wednesday as he was handed his first Arsenal league start since May 2016.

The England international was one of three Gunners academy products in the starting XI for Arsene Wenger’s side and had a fine match as he completed 90 minutes alongside Granit Xhaka in central midfield.

But Wilshere’s future remains unclear as he fights to earn a new contract at the Emirates and a place in England’s World Cup squad.

West Ham fans would love their team to follow up their interest in the 25-year-old by signing him when the window opens next month.
