Liverpool are in pole position to sign West Ham starlet Domingos Quina as the Hammers prepare to cash in on the midfielder in January, according to the Daily Mail

Quina, 18, is viewed as one of the most exciting young prospects in the Premier League, but he looks in for a fight to get minutes at West Ham with the club battling relegation.

The Hammers are ready to listen to offers for the Portugal U-20 international, who they signed from Chelsea’s academy for free in 2016.

Liverpool are said to have concrete interest in the talented central midfielder, and are leading the pack in the chase for his signature.

The Football Association have expressed interest in bringing Quina into the England set-up, but he has reportedly been lined up as a future Portugal international already.

Good move for Liverpool?

If the hype is to be believed, then Quina has the potential to be a real star in the Premier League.

He is very highly-rated at West Ham, but the club are not in a position to nurture his talents at the current time, and seem to think they would be best served by cashing in on the 18-year-old.

It is likely that he would be loaned out to gain experience at his new club, and there is no doubt this is a signing for the future.

Anyhow, there is serious potential there, and if Liverpool manage to beat the competition to Quina’s signature, then they could have a real star on their hands.

Likely to happen?

Quina does look likely to move on from the Hammers in January, as the club look to raise funds for other purchases.

Whether he leaves to Liverpool is yet to be seen, but with the Reds reportedly holding concrete interest in the 18-year-old, it would seem there is a good chance of that happening.

The main issue here may be price, with West Ham possibly looking for a pretty large sum for the starlet.

How much Liverpool are willing to pay is unknown, but if they do meet the club’s valuation then there is no reason that this transfer could not materialise.
