Mauricio Pochettino confirmed today that Tottenham may terminate the loan deals of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Josh Onomah in the January window.
Centre-back Carter-Vickers, 19, is currently on a season-long loan at Championship promotion hopefuls Sheffield United, while midfielder Onomah is spending the campaign at Aston Villa.
But Pochettino admitted at his media briefing on Friday, as quoted by Football London journalist Alasdair Gold on his personal Twitter account, that the youthful duo could be recalled from their loans next month but he has yet to make a decision.
Poch also told me that he hasn’t decided yet whether to loan Kyle Walker-Peters out next month, or whether Onomah or Carter-Vickers will be recalled. It may be a decision made late in the month.

One-time USA international Carter-Vickers has been a key player in Sheffield United’s bid to secure promotion from the Championship. The defender has made 16 appearances in the Championship and even managed to score his first ever senior goal on his Blades debut in September.
England Under-21 international Onomah has been an equally influential figure at eighth-placed Villa, scoring four goals in 21 league appearances, including in his team’s Boxing Day defeat to Brentford.
OPINION
Pochettino should hold fire until late January on whether to recall Carter-Vickers and Onomah. If Toby Alderweireld suffers another setback, or Spurs lost another senior central defender, then the manager will have little choice but to recall the strapping American. But if the Belgium international is fit to return, then Carter-Vickers is better off being in the Sheffield United first team. It is a similar situation for Onomah, who is only likely to climb into Tottenham first-team contention if they suffer a slew of injuries in his attacking midfield slot. The youngster is far better off being a regular at Villa than hanging around on the Spurs fringes.
