Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock at Sadio Mane’s omission from the starting XI for Saturday afternoon’s Premier League clash against Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp has made six changes to the team that beat Stoke City 3-0 in midweek, when Mane scored the opener with a beautifully dinked finish.
Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho, James Milner, Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been recalled to the team in place of Mane, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, Alberto Moreno, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dominic Solanke.
The big surprise is the omission of Mane, who has been a sensation since his transfer from Southampton in the summer of 2016.
Many regard the Senegalese, who scored in Sevilla, as Liverpool’s consistently most dangerous attacking player due to his pace, movement and finishing ability, which has yielded five goals and five assists from his 14 appearances for the club this season.
The Anfield faithful questioned Klopp’s decision to axe Mane from his starting XI as Liverpool aim to extend their seven-match unbeaten run.

Mane won’t like being on the bench again, Klopp is a weird manager

Glad to see Robertson finally start, weird that Can in in CB and our midfield 3 has no creativity in it what so ever. If Mané is being rested and Coutinho is up top then play OX in CM ffs
