Liverpool fans took to Twitter to lay into Sadio Mane for his first-half performance in their Premier League clash against Arsenal on Friday night.
Mane was restored to the starting XI after being omitted for last weekend’s 4-0 demolition of Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium as Jurgen Klopp selected each member of the team’s ‘Fab Four’ attackers.
The Senegal speed machine was heavily involved as Liverpool dominated the opening period and were good value for the 1-0 half time lead given to them by a Philippe Coutinho header.
But Mane was frequently guilty of over elaboration and lacked his usual killer instinct in and around the edge of the penalty box.
Liverpool fans were extremely critical of the wide forward on social media, with many urging him to calm down and let his natural talent take over, while one claimed he had been “visited by cartoon aliens”.
