Paul Merson has predicted Everton to suffer a heavy defeat when they host Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Toffees welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park at the weekend for a league clash and will be hoping to build on their strong recent form.
They are unbeaten in their last six games across all competitions and beat Swansea 3-1 on Monday night in comprehensive fashion.
Sam Allardyce has managed to get an instant response from his squad and the Merseyside club are ninth in the table.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also in some decent form and are third-placed in the league standings.
Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Everton will lose against Antonio Conte’s team on Saturday and has tipped a 3-0 scoreline in favour of the visitors.
“Everton have improved a lot, but they are due a slip up having put so much into recent matches,” Merson wrote in his column for Sky Sports. “This is the sort of game that Chelsea will step up for.”

The Toffees have struggled against their upcoming opponents recently and lost their last four meeting across all competitions. Allardyce’s team have the pressure off them after climbing up the league standings and away from the relegation places, but will be keen to keep up their momentum. The Chelsea fixture is most likely to be a bonus for them, with clashes against Bournemouth and West Brom shortly after.
