Chelsea disappointed as they fell to a 1-0 loss to West Ham on Saturday but fans have taken to Twitter to defend Eden Hazard and his contribution to the team.

Marko Arnautovic put the struggling Hammers ahead with a neat goal after just six minutes, exchanging a one-two with Manuel Lanzini before curling a left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

Hazard and Alvaro Morata were both guilty of missing chances to equalise for Chelsea, who could not break the Hammers’ defence, and fell to their first loss in six Premier League matches.

The result leaves them still in third in the table, but they are now at risk of falling further behind both Manchester City and Manchester United who both have games to play this weekend.

It was West Ham’s first win under new manager David Moyes, who had only managed to secure a point from his opening four matches.

The Hammers remain in 18th but move to 13 points, level with West Bromwich Albion who are one place above them.

Hazard has been a key player for Chelsea so far this season, with the diminutive Belgian already scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in all competitions.

Along with Alvaro Morata, Hazard has been the Blues’ main attacking threat this year, and Chelsea fans believe that he is being left to do it all on his own by his teammates.
