Goalkeeper and defence
?Jordan Pickford (Goalkeeper) – He should retain his place in goal as Everton need their strongest team out and he has been one of the few good performers this season.
Mason Holgate (Right-back) – The first change should see Holgate come into the team and replace Jonjoe Kenny. Everton have switched between their full-backs in the absence of Coleman and Kenny’s display against Leicester suggests he is not quite ready.
Phil Jagielka (Centre-back) – The Everton captain should be in the heart of defence and needs to try to lift his dispirited squad on the pitch.
?Ashley Williams (Centre-back) – He should partner Jagielka with the fitness of Michael Keane still unclear. Williams has been very poor so far this campaign and needs to show his worth with a top display on Thursday.
Leighton Baines (Left-back) – He remains the only senior option at left-back and should continue against Lyon, who like Williams owes the fans a big performance.
