Celtic should consider binning defender Cristian Gamboa and Tottenham wonderkid Kyle Walker-Peters would be the perfect replacement.
The Bhoys currently have Mikael Lustig as their first-choice right-back and his understudy Gamboa has continued to struggle at Parkhead.
The 28-year-old has made just three senior appearances for the Scottish giants this season and the full-back looks out of his depth in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
Celtic still have ambitions of winning all domestic trophies, while they could be playing in the Europa League too during the second half of the season.
Rodgers needs to find a more reliable back-up for Lustig in January so that he can rotate his defence during a busy fixture load, with Gamboa continuing to struggle whenever he is called upon.
The Sun have reported that Swansea are keen on signing Spurs’ 20-year-old defender Walker-Peters on loan in January.
It is understood that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently considering the possibility of granting the temporary exit of their wonderkid and now would be the perfect time for Celtic to strike.
The Bhoys would have the advantage of offering European football to the rising star and it could be a great platform to help Spurs’ academy star develop.
Walker-Peters is a highly-rated talent at the Premier League giants and has played three times for Spurs so far this campaign, but his chances are limited by the senior pair of Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.
The right-back helped England’s Under-20s side win the World Cup this year and he is being tipped for greatness in the future.
He would be a much better option for Celtic than Gamboa and has shown that he is a strong one-on-one defender.
Meanwhile, Walker-Peters can also be a strong attacking threat and the chances are his distribution is already better than his Celtic counterpart despite his young age.
