West Ham are on the search for a new manager following the dismissal of Slaven Bilic – and the club’s supporters on Twitter want Alan Pardew to return to the club for a second stint in charge.

The Hammers announced on Monday morning that they have sacked Croatian Bilic after a disappointing start to the season.

He leaves the London club 18th in the Premier League table and a new manager is expected to arrive during the international break.

David Moyes is widely regarded as the favourite to take the vacant position and could take his first position since he left Sunderland.

However, West Ham fans on social media have identified former manager Pardew as the ideal candidate to be Bilic’s successor.

The 56-year-old has been out of managerial work since he left Crystal Palace last year, but previously spent three years in charge of the Hammers.

Pardew is currently working as a pundit for various media outlets, but West Ham fans want their club to tempt him back into Premier League management.

He was previously at the club between 2003-06 and helped them achieve promotion from the Championship via the play-offs.

The English boss also led them to ninth in the Premier League table in the 2005/06 season and he lost an FA Cup final to Liverpool on penalties.

Pardew proved with Crystal Palace that he can save a club from a relegation from a mid-season appointment, something he did with palace recently.

West Ham were expecting to be competing for the European spots this season, but their immediate priority will be escaping the relegation zone.
