Josh Onomah completed 67 minutes during the win over Preston on Wednesday night – and the Aston Villa fans raved about his performance on Twitter.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder helped his side record an impressive 2-0 away victory as their strong form continued.

Steve Bruce’s side have moved up to fifth in the Championship table and brushed aside a Preston side that are also eyeing a play-off spot.

James Chester opened the scoring for the visitors after just 12 minutes with his header, while Robert Snodgrass added the second in the first-half after latching on to a pass from Onomah.

The Midlands giants are now beginning to build some real momentum and host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday in the last game before the international break.

Villa fans singled out playmaker Onomah for his display in mid-week against Preston and feel that his class showed.

They will be hoping that the England Under-21 international is okay after being forced off with a suspected groin injury in the second-half.

Onomah has become a regular in the Bruce team this season and put in a positive display against Preston.

The youngster is currently on a season-long loan at Villa Park from Premier League giants Tottenham and is being tipped for a big future.

He is a technical player that usually plays in the number 10 role behind the striker and adding more assists to his game will be something he is keen to do.
