Tottenham fans took to Twitter to express their delight at the performance of Serge Aurier in their 2-1 Champions League win against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
Second half goals from Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son were enough to cancel out a first half strike from Pierre Emerick Aubemeyang and secure the three points, which ensures that Spurs progress into the knockout stages of Europe’s premier competition as group winners.
Spurs bounced back from their weekend defeat to Arsenal in style after manager Mauricio Pochettino made four changes from the starting XI.
Aurier was recalled at right wing-back in place of Kieran Trippier and was a constant attacking threat down the right flank with his energy, mobility and power.
Tottenham fans took to social media en masse to laud the Ivory Coast international, 24, with a number stating that it was his best performance for the club since his £24million transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.

Hands-down Serge Aurier’s best performance in a Spurs shirt so far. Absolutely relentless down the right flank and very disciplined defensively too this evening. #COYS#THFC pic.twitter.com/sGbm0jFE2O

Aurier has played in a manner that I was expecting when we first signed him …#SignOfThingsToCome

Yeah, as you know I didn’t want to play a strong side tonight, but how can we not see how well they played. Aurier and Rose were brilliant tonight. Winks ran midfield and Dele was great. I have no complaints on any of them.

Aurier again showing he has an abundance of talent, if he can stay focused and be more disciplined. Poch will have been working with him and you can see the difference.
