Wolves striker Leo Bonatini has revealed that he sees his long-term future at the club.

In an interview with the Mail, the Brazilian striker filled supporters with hope that he wants to remain at Molineux beyond his season-long loan spell.

This comes amid reports that Wolves are working on a deal to convert Bonatini’s loan into a £5million permanent transfer from Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal Riyadh in the January transfer window.

“I really want to stay here at Wolves,” Bonatini said. “To be in the Premier League with this group. We deserve it, but we know we still have to work a lot. We will do our best.”

The centre-forward, 23, has made a huge impact at the Championship leaders in the opening months of the campaign, scoring 10 times from 16 league matches to top the second-tier goal charts.

OPINION

The Molineux faithful will be delighted at Bonatini’s upbeat transfer message. The Championship player of the month for October has looked not only the real deal for Wolves this season but also capable of holding his own in the English top flight. He is not alone in that at big-spending Wolves, who have given manager Nuno Espirito Santo a group of players capable of charting a course from the notoriously choppy waters of the Championship into the Premier League. During his nomadic career, Bonatini has already taken in clubs in Brazil, Italy, Portugal and Saudi Arabia and now would be the ideal time to put down some roots at a team who are clearly going places.
