West Ham are leading the chase for highly-rated Greek goalkeeper Giannis Anestis, according to Football Insider.
The reliable news site claim that Stoke and Brighton are also in the hunt for the 26-year-old AEK Athens shot-stopper, with all three clubs deploying scouts out to Greece to make regular checks on Anestis as they look to add to their respective goalkeeping options.
Football Insider report that AEK could be forced to cash in on Anestis in the January window as his contract expires next summer.
It is said that the Greek outfit are braced for interest in the player in the New Year.
Good move for West Ham?
West Ham are in the market for a new keeper as current No1 Joe Hart is on loan from Manchester City, who are reportedly paying a portion of his wages. Anestis has caught the eye for AEK this season, keeping ten clean sheets in 17 games in all competitions to help the Europa League outfit to second spot in the Greek Super League. Anestis recently earned his first call-up to the Greece national team and he was on the bench for their recent World Cup qualifying play-off defeat to Croatia. He could be a smart acquisition for the Hammers.

Likely to happen?
Anestis is out of contract at AEK next summer and he could sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January when the transfer window reopens. Football Insider is a very reliable source of transfer information and a move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards for the keeper.
