Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to sign Tottenham ace Dele Alli.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that Ronaldo was blown away by the 21-year-old’s performance when he scored a brace against the Champions League and La Liga champions in Spurs’ 3-1 victory at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.
The report claims the Portugal international wants Alli to become Luka Modric’s successor at the club which could spell the end to Mateo Kovacic’s Madrid career.
Good move for Tottenham?
Spurs supporters should be extremely concerned with this news as an endorsement from the most important player at the club means that Madrid are likely to step up their pursuit.
Given his status at the Bernabeu, the hierarchy will listen to what Ronaldo has to say which could mean that Tottenham will face a tough task in keeping hold of the young midfielder.
Despite a slow start to the campaign, Alli has managed to replicate his form over the last couple of seasons, contributing with seven goals in all competitions so far.
Losing Alli could potentially trigger more important players at the club to leave in the near-future.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino must do everything within his power to convince the entire squad that they are in the perfect place to develop and eventually win trophies.

With Ronaldo giving his club the green light to pursue Alli, Madrid still need to prepared to splash the cash with the Spurs man’s current contract expiring in 2022.
Madrid president Florentino Perez will be desperate to reinforce the squad and he will surely test the waters next summer in order to secure Alli’s signature.
Regarding Alli’s ambition, he might decide to leave North London if Spurs fail to pick up some silverware this season which appears to be the case as Manchester City are running away with the Premier League.
