Hugo Lloris will be sidelined for at least two weeks with a thigh injury sustained in Tottenham’s 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid on Wednesday.

France manager Didier Deschamps told French newspaper L’Equipe that the Spurs goalkeeper had suffered a “a tear of the big adductor” during the landmark triumph at Wembley.

Deschamps said of the France and Spurs captain: “He has undergone tests this morning, he’ll be out for at least 15 days.”

The injury rules Lloris not only out of the national team friendlies against Wales on 10 November and Germany four days later but also out of Spurs’ Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The keeper is also a major doubt for the north London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal on 18 November, meaning he’d be struggling to make the Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund in Germany three days later, a match for which Spurs are now considered favourites at www.online-sportwette.net.

Lloris played the full 90 minutes as Tottenham defeated European champions Madrid at Wembley, but after the game he told beIN SPORTS “I felt something when I landed” after jumping to claim a cross.

Another one bites the dust. Spurs have some serious collateral damage from their memorable win against Real, with key pair Lloris and Toby Alderweireld breaking down with muscle injuries. Centre-back Alderweireld has admitted he will be out for a “few weeks” and there is a similar prognosis for established No1 Lloris as Mauricio Pochettino counts the cost of one of the most memorable wins of his reign. Tottenham should be able to overcome Palace with their goalkeeper and premier centre-back, but will be desperate to have the pair back for the north London derby.
