Mauricio Pochettino has promised he will field a strong team for Tottenham’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
But the Spurs manager suggested at his media conference upon arrival in Germany on Monday evening that he will rest a number of senior players ahead of a congested Premier League programme in the run-up to Christmas.
Tottenham have three league encounters in eight days, against West Brom, Leicester City and Watford, starting from this weekend and will be eyeing the accumulation of nine points to get their title challenge back on track.
That will likely mean that there will be a major tweak to the side that came unstuck against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium last Saturday.
With a home Champions League clash against Cypriot minnows Apoel Nicosia to end their group-stage campaign, Tottenham will be confident of winning the group even if they do not secure victory at the Westfalenstadion.
