Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment at Mohamed Diame being included in the starting line-up against Watford.
The 30-year-old is yet to complete 90 minutes for the Magpies in the Premier League this season but he has been given his second start of the campaign in the crucial encounter against the Hornets at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.
The midfielder has made a total of nine appearances for Rafa Benitez’ team this season but he has failed to provide a single goal or assist in all competitions.
The Tyneside revealed on their official Twitter account that the Senegal international would accompany Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Ritchie and Jacob Murphy in the midfield.

I would rather play Merino on one leg than Diame, hope the big lump makes me eat my words but highly doubt it. #NUFC

The Magpies will be desperate to get back on track in the Premier League following their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United last weekend.
In fact, Benitez’s side have now lost three consecutive league matches and they are now only four points above the bottom three.
