Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock at Sadio Mane’s omission from the starting XI for Saturday evening’s Premier League clash against Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to the team that drew 3-3 at Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night after they squandered a 3-0 lead.
Simon Mignolet, Joel Matip, James Milner, Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been recalled to the team in place of Mane, Loris Karius, Dejan Lovren, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino.
The big surprise is the omission of attacking duo Roberto Firmino and Mane, particularly the latter, who has been a sensation since his transfer from Southampton in the summer of 2016.
Many regard the Senegalese, who scored in Sevilla, as Liverpool’s most dangerous attacking due to his pace, movement and finishing ability.
The Anfield faithful questioned Klopp’s decision to axe Mane from his starting XI in such a critical fixture.
