Liverpool might have snatched a draw from the jaws of victory against Sevilla in the Champions League in midweek, but there were plenty of smiles among the players and staff as they prepared for Saturday’s Premier League showdown against Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp and his players gathered for a Thursday evening session under the lights as the German plotted how to keep up his good record against the Blues in the English top flight’s biggest match of the weekend.

Liverpool secured four points out of a possible six against Antonio Conte’s side last season, which included a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge and a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Chelsea have a three-point advantage over the Merseysiders going into Saturday’s clash and will remain ahead of their rivals unless Liverpool win by three or more goals in the 5.30pm kick-off.

So, what can we expect from Liverpool against Chelsea after what has been a mixture of the scintillating and downright dreadful from Klopp’s team this season?

There were quite a few pointers from the Melwood session on Thursday, as captured by a gallery of images on the official Liverpool website.

This Is Futbol names five things spotted from the Merseysiders, including how a 26-year-old will be recalled to the starting XI and a defensive mainstay is set to be axed.
