Everton line up Richarlison bid

|

Tottenham are eyeing up a bid for in-form Watford attacker Richarlison, according to a reliable journalist.

Bleacher Report correspondent Dean Jones claimed on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that the Merseysiders are keeping close tabs on the Brazilian with a view too a new-year bid for him.

Jones reports Everton’s interest in Richarlison, 20, at a time when they are widely reported to have been rebuffed by Watford in their attempts to hire Marco Silva as their new manager.

Good move for Everton?

Richarlison could be a brilliant signing for Everton, who have chronically lacked pace and verve in the final third this season. The 10-times Brazil Under-20 international, who operates mainly on the left flank, has made a huge impact in the Premier League since his £11.2million arrival, scoring five goals and providing three assists from 12 league matches. Richarlison is by no means the finished article and still needs to brush up on his finishing, but he has the potential to be a massive asset to a top-six club.

Likely to happen?

Watford are a club who aim to buy cheap, develop and then sell. It is a methodology that has reaped huge dividends in recent seasons, during which they have established themselves as a Premier League club despite changing managers every year. Richarlison is unlikely to stay at Vicarage Road for long if he keeps up his good form, but Everton might have to fend off some top clubs to secure his signature.
