One often-touted replacement for Sanchez is Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez. Arsenal were repeatedly linked with the Algerian maestro over the summer, but a move never materialised despite the winger making no secret of his desire to leave the King Power. The 2016 PFA Player of the Year is still only 26, and his price tag will have fallen since the summer. He is a proven Premier League performer, having scored 29 goals alongside 22 assists in his 114 appearances. He also offers Arsenal something which they would lack without Sanchez: unpredictability. Mahrez is capable of dazzling turns, mazy runs, pinpoint passes, and stunning finishes, a skill-set which no one other than Sanchez possesses.
