Chris Sutton has delivered a simple but scathing assessment of Rangers after their dismal 2-0 loss to Hamilton at Ibrox.

Gers were looking for a third win in a row for the first time this season, and also a third win in three under caretaker boss Graeme Murty, but failed to impress against mid-table Hamilton.

Rangers were wasteful in front of goal as they fashioned 17 shots, but only four of those were on target, and they struck the crossbar twice.

Striker Alfredo Morelos was particularly at fault, and Rangers fans took to Twitter to slam the Colombian for his poor performance.

Accies on the other hand were ruthless, and goals from David Templeton and Darren Lyon saw them leave with their first win at Ibrox since 1926, a result that came as a surprise to many.

But the outspoken Sutton thinks otherwise, and took to Twitter to voice his simple, but damning, assessment.

OPINION

Sutton is well-known for his outspoken and controversial opinions, and many will disagree with his assessment of Rangers. However, maybe it isn’t such a surprise to see the Light Blues fall to Hamilton. Accies were coming off a 3-1 away win over Dundee and a respectable 2-2 home draw against second-placed Aberdeen. Rangers have also been in good form, coming off two wins, but their inexcusable failure to reel off three wins in a row this season has again come back to bite them. Graeme Murty would have been hoping for a win to firmly put himself in the frame to replace Pedro Caixinha, but it was not to be. Murty’s saving grace however was Motherwell’s 2-0 win at Pittodrie against Derek McInnes’ Dons.
