Leeds United have tabled a bid for Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak, it has been confirmed by the president of the Polish club.

Karol Klimczak has substantiated reports in the Polish media that the Championship club have made an offer for the wide man.

Sport.pl claim Leeds have had a bid of £180,000 rejected for the teenager but he is out of contract next summer and Klimczak has admitted that he could leave within months.

Speaking about the offer, Klimczak said to Sport.pl: “I can confirm that we have this option, but I firmly believe that we’re not interested in parting with Kamil in the winter. We don’t think we are ready for his departure.

“If the player makes the final decision and doesn’t want to extend the contract, then he’ll leave the club in the summer.”

Jozwiak has made seven appearances for Poznan this season, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.

Good move for Leeds?

Aged 19, Jozwiak represents one for the future and it is difficult to see him making an immediate impact for Thomas Christiansen’s side. A versatile winger who can play on either flank, but is predominantly a right-winger, the Pole is not a regular at Poznan, which means he would be unlikely to walk straight into the Leeds team. Nevertheless, the Yorkshire giants are in need of a right-sided player who can deliver the goods more often than the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, Hadi Sacko and Kemar Roofe.

Likely to happen?

Leeds signed 16 new senior players during the summer and a further seven for their Under-23s squad. It appears that Jozwiak has been targeted with a view to joining their development squad and, given his relatively low value, a relatively cheap deal could be secured imminently. The young Pole could sign a pre-contract with United from 1 January onwards.
